Finding Innovative Solutions for Agricultural Product Distribution

Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Woo Seung-hee) has declared 2023 as the inaugural year of innovation and is undertaking a comprehensive reform of county administration. In this context, it has announced concrete action plans in the agri-food industry and agricultural product distribution sectors and has begun full-scale implementation.

According to the county on the 21st, the newly established Agri-food Distribution Division, created through last year's organizational restructuring, is expanding its activities at the center of agricultural policy innovation with the goal of strengthening the market competitiveness of Yeongam-gun's agricultural products and increasing farmers' income.

Under the innovation vision of "Processing everything to maximize value," four policy pillars have been set: fostering a consumer-tailored agri-food processing industry, innovating the agricultural product distribution structure, establishing a production and distribution system centered on local resources, and revitalizing local food consumption.

Through 10 detailed implementation tasks based on these pillars, preparations are underway for a new leap forward in Yeongam's agri-food processing industry and agricultural product distribution.

The head of the Agri-food Distribution Division stated, "This year, we will renew the framework of Yeongam's agri-food industry and agricultural product distribution, establish a structure where farmers, distribution organizations, and distribution experts cooperate for mutual benefit, and make this the inaugural year of innovation that creates growth opportunities for local agriculture. We will do our best to produce concrete results by enhancing the value of the Yeongam brand through differentiated strategies that consider regional characteristics."

He added, "We ask for your continued support in using Yeongam's agricultural products and agri-foods extensively and taking the lead in promotion," expressing "great expectations for Yeongam agriculture's leap into the future."
