The film 'Rebound' has been invited to the competition section of the 25th Udine Far East Film Festival in Italy, Barunson E&A announced on the 21st.
'Rebound' is based on the true story of the 2012 Busan Jungang High School basketball team, depicting the miraculous eight-day journey of a newly appointed coach and six players from the weakest basketball team, who were previously unnoticed, as they compete in the national high school basketball tournament. Actors Ahn Jae-hong and Jung Jin-woon star in the film, directed by Jang Hang-jun, with a screenplay by writer Kim Eun-hee.
The Udine Far East Film Festival, held in Italy from the 21st to the 29th of next month, introduces a variety of Asian films to audiences worldwide. Previous invited films include 'Believer' (2018), 'The Man Standing Next', 'Deliver Us from Evil' (2020), 'Mogadishu', and 'Miracle' (2021). 'Rebound' has been officially invited as a nominee for the Audience Award in the competition section and will be screened as a World Festival Premiere.
Sabrina Baracetti, Executive Director of the Udine Far East Film Festival, commented, "'Rebound' is a film that tells the story of a team learning how to live with dignity and perseverance, embodying the essential and original spirit of sports," adding that it is "powerful and moving."
Additionally, 'Rebound' has been pre-sold to the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Singapore, and other countries, and will be released domestically on April 5.
