Yeongdeok-gun Public Health Center in Gyeongbuk is operating a prenatal health class in six sessions from the 2nd of this month to the 6th of next month to provide necessary information from pregnancy to childbirth and childcare and to support safe delivery.
The course content consists of three programs: prenatal yoga class for healthy childbirth, breastfeeding class, and making prenatal education items such as wood mobiles and Hanji mood crafts. These are conducted once a week on Thursdays from 10:30 AM for 40 minutes via the non-face-to-face video conferencing platform Zoom.
Among them, the breastfeeding class provides useful information such as the benefits of breast milk, correct breastfeeding methods, problems with mixed feeding, and how to cope with breast engorgement. This information is delivered more easily through models to help mothers with efficient breastfeeding and proper breastfeeding methods and postures.
Park In-suk, Director of Health Management Division, said, “We will do our best to create a happy family through the operation of programs for safe delivery and to foster a childbirth-friendly environment.” She added, “We ask for much interest and participation in the prenatal health class.”
