Nexon Games announced on the 20th that the subculture collection-type role-playing game (RPG) "Blue Archive" has been granted a publishing license by the National Press and Publication Administration of China.
"Blue Archive" is a character RPG where players lead students from various academies to solve incidents occurring in the city. It was released in the Japanese region in February 2021, and in 237 countries excluding China, including Korea, North America, and Thailand, in November 2021.
The Chinese regional service of "Blue Archive" will be handled by "Shanghai Roaming Star." "Shanghai Roaming Star" is a subsidiary of "Yostar," a renowned subculture game publisher in Japan and North America known for titles such as "Azur Lane" and "Arknights."
"Blue Archive," based on the setting of the "Academy City," features a solid story and charming characters, achieving the number one spot in highest grossing rankings on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Japan, as well as the number one highest grossing ranking on the Korean Apple App Store. In 2022, it received the "Popular Game Award" at the Korea Game Awards and the "Popular Game of the Year" at the Google Play 2022 Best of Awards.
