Busan Gijang-gun will distribute Taegeukgi flags to households moving in from outside the area and couples registering their marriage at the Ilgwang-eup Administrative Welfare Center starting in April.
Gijang-gun announced on the 20th that it will implement the project titled "Ilgwang-ae (愛) Carrying the Love of Taegeukgi."
"Ilgwang-ae (愛) Carrying the Love of Taegeukgi" is a project selected through the "2023 KHNP Gori Headquarters Business Support Project" competition. The project aims to welcome new residents to Ilgwang-eup and support newlywed couples in their new start, while also fostering an atmosphere of Taegeukgi flag raising.
Additionally, newcomers will be given a "Welcome Leaflet to Ilgwang-eup, Where Nature and New Town Coexist," containing basic local information and lifestyle details to help them settle quickly and conveniently.
The leaflet includes ▲administrative districts and population statistics of Ilgwang-eup ▲tourism resources and local festivals ▲waste disposal methods, and other information that new residents moving to Ilgwang-eup for the first time may find useful.
Jo Woo-jin, the head of Ilgwang-eup, said, "We planned the distribution of Taegeukgi flags to raise patriotism and encourage participation in flag raising." He added, "We hope that Ilgwang-eup, which has excellent residential and transportation conditions, will achieve a population of 30,000 and see an increase in Taegeukgi flag raising rates, contributing to the development of the local community."
