Over 470 Export Consultations for 'Filmart' Korean Joint Pavilion Companies

FILMART is the longest-running TV and film market in Asia. Overcoming the obstacles posed by COVID-19, it was held in person for the first time in four years. About 700 companies from 41 countries and more than 7,300 broadcasting and video content professionals attended.

Twenty-three domestic broadcasters, platform companies, producers, and distributors participated. These included MBC, CJ ENM, SBS Contents Hub, SLL, KBS Media, Content Wave, Damhwa, Daehan Media World, Rian Contents, Bok Contents, Big House Entertainment, Almond Company, and AStory. The Korea Creative Content Agency showcased eighty-six broadcasting and video content titles at the Korean joint pavilion set up in the middle of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. An agency official explained, "We recorded over 470 export consultations and consultation amounts totaling 87 million USD," adding, "This represents increases of 169% and 587%, respectively, compared to last year."

The Korea Creative Content Agency will also operate a Korean joint pavilion at MIPTV, held next month in Cannes, France. An official stated, "We plan to expand the scale compared to previous years," and added, "By adding new projects such as autonomous overseas market participation support and major regional distribution consultation meetings, we aim to broaden the export base for domestic companies."
