Kwangdong Pharmaceutical announced on the 20th that it will hold the 'Kwangdong Frix: We are KDF Exhibition,' an introductory exhibition of the Kwangdong Frix team, at Gasan Millennium Garden located on the 2nd floor of its headquarters in Seocho-dong, Seoul.
This exhibition is composed of content introducing the e-sports team 'Kwangdong Frix.' The space is divided into sections showcasing the team's history, introduction of game categories, and tasting of the OnTheGame beverage. The exhibition viewing hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and it is closed on weekends and public holidays.
In December 2021, Kwangdong Pharmaceutical signed a naming sponsorship agreement with AfreecaTV to change the official name of the professional gaming team formerly known as 'Afreeca Frix' to 'Kwangdong Frix.' Since then, they launched the e-sports dedicated stadium 'Vita500 Colosseum' in Jamsil and developed the game-specific beverage brand 'OnTheGame,' among other activities related to the team. They also held live game viewing events inviting employees' families as part of internal welfare.
Kwangdong Frix was founded in 2016 by acquiring the amateur team 'Rebels Anarchy' and currently operates a team of about 50 players across seven game categories. Notably, the 'League of Legends' team achieved runner-up in the 2018 League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) Spring Season and qualified for the playoffs for five consecutive years from 2016 to 2021.
A Kwangdong Pharmaceutical representative said, "This exhibition was prepared to cheer on the start of the season together with employees who have a strong interest in e-sports," adding, "We will continue to expand opportunities for exchange through various projects in the future."
