On the 20th, Choi Kyung-ju shot 2 under par in the final round held at Newport Beach Country Club (par 71) in Newport Beach, California, finishing tied for 7th place (10 under par 203).
This year, Choi has participated in four PGA Tour Champions events. His best result in the previous three tournaments was a tie for 18th place at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship, and this season he entered the top 10 for the first time.
Starting tied for 28th on the first day of the tournament, Choi surged to 7th place after the second round held the previous day, shooting 6 under par 65 with 7 birdies and 1 bogey, and maintained his position by keeping up the momentum.
The victory went to Ernie Els (South Africa). Els recorded a 6 under par 65 on the day, finishing the 3-round total at 13 under par 200, securing his third career win.
