[One Day Walk] 15km Spinning Around... Seoul National University Small Circular Path

[Editor's Note] Seoul National University Gwanak Campus covers an area of 4,108,000㎡, which is larger than Yeouido (2,900,000㎡). The SNU Sports Promotion Center is conducting a health project called SNUWALK to encourage walking among campus members, using the Gwanak Campus as the stage, and has created a SNUWALK map. This article introduces useful walking courses at Seoul National University not only for its members but also for the general public.

The SNU Hana-ro, which circles around Seoul National University, is a small loop trail where the start and end points meet. It consists of 13 sections, with a total distance of 15 km, an estimated time of 2 hours and 50 minutes, and a calorie burn of 865 kcal. The Sports Promotion Center recommends courses such as the one overlooking the open Comprehensive Stadium (Comprehensive Stadium - Main Stand - IBK Communication Center, 0.68 km), the course near the Central Library (Lawn Plaza - Central Library Main Building - Gwanjeong Hall, 1 km), and the course along the grassy field of Beodeulgol (Nadeulmun - Faculty Club - Observatory, 1.3 km).

Places worth visiting include the Acropolis (abbreviated as Acro), a wide open space between the Central Library and the Administration Building; the small plaza in front of the College of Social Sciences, known as Agora, symbolizing the social sciences; the Justice Plaza, a narrow space between Law Building 15 and the Law Library; and Abang-gung, a resting place between Humanities Buildings 1 and 2, named after the plum trees brought from China and planted by professors of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
