'Collection of 1.09 trillion KRW in Delinquent Taxes'... Gyeonggi-do Offers 100 Million KRW Reward Gyeonggi-do Tax Delinquent and Evasion Reporter Reward Poster - 100 Million KRW Prize

Gyeonggi Province will pay a reward of up to 100 million KRW to informants who report concealed local tax amounts or hidden assets of delinquent taxpayers.

Eligible applicants for the reward include ▲those who provide crucial information for calculating concealed local tax amounts and unjust refunds or tax reductions ▲those who report hidden assets of delinquent taxpayers ▲those who contribute to discovering hidden tax sources.

The reward rate ranges from 5% to 15% of the concealed tax amount and collected amount, with a maximum reward of 100 million KRW.

The list of high-amount delinquent taxpayers can be checked on the websites of the province and city/county governments as well as on the Wetax platform.

Related reports should be submitted to the city/county collection department by fax, mail, or through Wetax, attaching specific documents such as accounting records, related ledgers, and sales contracts that can verify tax evasion or hidden assets of delinquent taxpayers.

The responsible department will conduct an investigation based on the reported information, and if concealed tax amounts are recovered and delinquent amounts collected as a result, the reward will be paid to the informant after review by the Local Tax Deliberation Committee.

Meanwhile, the delinquent tax amount in Gyeonggi Province this year is 1.09 trillion KRW.

The province plans to continue disclosing the list of high-amount and habitual delinquent taxpayers this year, and apply various new collection techniques such as seizing deposits using housing lease information in its collection activities.

Ryu Young-yong, Director of the Tax Justice Division of the province, emphasized, "We will relentlessly pursue delinquent taxpayers who maliciously evade tax payments so that residents who faithfully fulfill their tax obligations do not feel relatively deprived."
