How to Prepare for the Student Record Comprehensive Screening? Customized Counseling for 3rd Year High School Students by Gyeongnam Office of Education

170 Applicants Accepted on a First-Come, First-Served Basis Starting at 10 AM on the 20th

The Gyeongnam Office of Education will provide customized college admission counseling for high school seniors and their parents ahead of the university entrance exams.

According to the provincial Office of Education, the Gyeongnam University Admission Information Center will hold sessions from the 27th to the 31st, and the Seobu University Admission Information Center will hold sessions from the 29th to the 31st. The hours for both are from 4:40 PM to 9:00 PM.

Counseling will be conducted for 170 students and parents who apply online, with each session lasting 40 minutes per individual.

Applications for counseling can be made on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 10:00 AM on the 20th via the Gyeongnam University Admission Information Center website.

If applicants do not have an account (ID) on the website, they must first sign up as a member and then apply individually as a student or parent through the event application menu.

The counseling will involve a university admission expert committee composed of local specialized teachers and counselors from the Gyeongnam and Seobu University Admission Information Centers, who will provide advice on the characteristics of university admission processes and customized preparation methods, as well as share related information.

They will also provide guidance on ▲ customized application strategies for each university the student is applying to ▲ detailed content for preparing for college entrance exams in the first semester of the third year ▲ effective school life methods ▲ how to utilize the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) when applying through early and regular admissions.

Considering the abolition of self-introduction letters and the expanded non-reflection areas of school records in university admissions starting from the 2024 academic year, which may cause difficulties in preparing for comprehensive student record screening, guidance on school life methods and strategies for the remaining period will also be provided.

The provincial Office of Education stated that this counseling was organized to help alleviate the anxiety of students and parents caused by an unstable admission environment, due to factors such as a decrease in the school-age population, an expected increase in repeat test takers (N-su students), and a decrease in the number of applicants relative to the number of available spots.

Kim Kyung-gyu, Director of Career Education, said, “Through this counseling, we hope to resolve concerns and questions about college admissions and that students will start the new semester confidently based on thorough preparation at the beginning of the term.”
