Bibimble to Operate Metaverse Platform 'Bicus Popup Booth' During Seoul Fashion Week

The '2023 F/W Seoul Fashion Week,' where you can preview the 2023 fall/winter fashion trends, is currently underway.

This event is a global fashion event hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, bringing together top designers to promote Seoul's fashion industry. The event is being held at Dongdaemun DDP until the 19th.

This Seoul Fashion Week features individual booths that combine fashion with cutting-edge technology, offering unique experiences and entertainment. Participating brands include Musinsa, Mercedes-Benz, Metrocity, Catch Fashion, and the metaverse platform Bicus.

Bicus is Bibimble’s metaverse platform expressing 'another me,' supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Radio Promotion Association of Korea (RAPA). It is being developed in collaboration with Dexter Studio through the '2022 Metaverse Platform Development Support Project.' Currently, it is in a pre-official launch phase, developing an open pilot service.

At the ‘Bicus’ brand booth at Seoul Fashion Week, an event is being held for on-site visitors to capture their OOTD fashion looks in 3D scanning videos. According to officials, the special experience has attracted participation from various fashion enthusiasts.

Additionally, visitors to the booth can directly play Bicus. They can decorate their own persona (character) and space in the metaverse and meet global fashion people. Fashion figures created from instant 3D scanning of themselves can also be viewed within the metaverse.

A Bibimble representative said, “Even if you want to express your unique style, previously it was only possible through photos and videos, but with Bicus, you can uniquely express your fashion in 3D, which is difficult to capture in photos.” They added, “Especially, it is gaining attention because it allows you to see the texture of clothing and accessories, not just plain 3D.”

They continued, “We aim to open a new chapter where style and fashion can be shared without time and space constraints by utilizing an experiential metaverse different from existing metaverses.”

Meanwhile, the 2023 F/W Seoul Fashion Week is held at DDP from March 15 to 19, featuring fashion shows from 30 designer brands, the largest domestic trade show, and various citizen participation programs. This year, the global ambassadors are the group ‘NewJeans.’
