'Kkuweaek?' means 'Do you regret it?' It is a word spreading mainly on Twitter and online communities.


In December 2022, a Twitter user A shared an anecdote about a conversation with a university classmate.


"I was talking with a classmate the other day, and suddenly they said 'Kkuweaek?' So I was like, 'What? ... What?' Then they said 'Kkuweaek?' again. Turns out it meant 'Do you regret it?'"


The unique sound of 'Kkuweaek,' the alien feel of each syllable, and the absurd episode combined to create a meme.


The anecdote was enthusiastically received by Twitter users and shared over 300,000 times.


Afterwards, Twitter users shared tweets containing 'Kkuweaek' along with stories of misunderstandings involving strange words, helping 'Kkuweaek' spread even further.

During the airing of JTBC drama 'Nevertheless,' a clip with a thumbnail saying 'Do you regret it? Do you regret meeting me?' was uploaded on YouTube.


A Twitter user captured this and wrote, "Kkuweaek? Are you 'Kkuweaek' about meeting me?" which also received positive responses and was shared over 150,000 times.
