Jeju Air Resumes Flights to Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi... "Expanding Market Share"

Jeju Air announced on the 16th that it ranked first among low-cost carriers (LCCs) in the number of passengers transported on Vietnam routes.


According to statistics from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Aviation Information Portal System, Jeju Air transported approximately 98,200 passengers, accounting for 15% of the total 635,600 passengers transported by all domestic airlines from January 1 to February 28 this year. Among domestic low-cost carriers, it achieved first place with 27%. It also recorded an average load factor of 93.8%, surpassing the 90% load factor during the same period in 2019 before COVID-19.


Jeju Air currently operates four routes: Incheon~Da Nang, Nha Trang (Nha Trang), Busan~Da Nang, and Muan~Da Nang. In the fourth quarter of last year, when air travel demand began to recover in earnest, it transported about 76,700 passengers, double the approximately 35,800 passengers from the previous quarter, showing a steep upward trend.


Jeju Air will resume operating the Incheon~Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi routes seven times a week starting April 20. Known as the "Paris of the East," Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Hanoi offer different charms compared to Da Nang and Nha Trang.

Ahead of the resumption of Incheon~Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi flights, Jeju Air is running a two-week discount promotion from 10 a.m. today until 5 p.m. on the 28th. One-way tickets including airport facility charges and fuel surcharges for travel between April 20 and August 31 are priced from 129,500 KRW for Incheon~Ho Chi Minh City and from 134,200 KRW for Incheon~Hanoi.


Additionally, partnership benefits include a 40,000 KRW discount code usable even during peak season, an 8% discount on airport pickup products purchased for over 30,000 KRW on the travel platform KLOOK, and a 10% discount on activity products purchased for over 60,000 KRW. Meanwhile, Jeju Air operated a total of nine Vietnam routes as of 2019. It transported approximately 962,200 passengers throughout the year, recording an average load factor of 85%. In particular, the Incheon~Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi routes transported about 121,500 and 119,300 passengers respectively, maintaining steady popularity with average load factors of 88% and 86%.
