According to the county on the 16th, the operation of the new bus route No. 100 is due to the continuous population inflow following the completion of Phase 1 development and Phase 2 development of Namak New Town and Oryong District, meeting the demand for establishing a connected transportation network between Namak New Town and Muan-eup residents. It will be operated separately and changed from the existing route No. 200 jointly operated by Mokpo and Muan.
To operate the new bus route No. 100, the county conducted a pre-inspection and test drive of the bus route on the 9th and signed a public bus operation agreement with Muan Transportation on the 15th. The county plans to support compensation for losses incurred after operation.
The rural seat bus No. 100 will operate from 6 a.m. to 9:40 p.m., with a travel time of 80 minutes. The dispatch interval and number of operations are 24 times a day every 40 minutes on weekdays and 16 times a day every 60 minutes on weekends and holidays.
Six buses will operate on weekdays and four on weekends and holidays. The bus fare is 2,100 KRW for general passengers and 100 KRW for elementary, middle, high school students and youth (when paying by card).
Since bus No. 100 passes through Mokpo Terminal, residents in Namak and Oryong areas can travel to Mokpo Terminal and Muan-eup without transfers. The dispatch intervals have been adjusted during school commuting and rush hours to prevent inconvenience to passengers.
Governor Kim San said, “With the operation of the new bus route from Muan-eup to Namak and Oryong, which has been a long-standing wish of the residents, not only will the transportation rights and convenience of the residents be guaranteed, but it is also expected to revitalize the local economy by connecting Muan Traditional Market and Namak New Town. We will continue to do our best to discover transportation welfare policies so that residents do not experience any inconvenience.”
The operation of the new bus route from Muan-eup to Namak and Oryong is a pledge of Governor Kim San in the 8th local government term, and an opening ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on the 17th at the Oryong garage in Illo-eup.
