On the 16th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that a total of 8,875 vehicles across 27 models manufactured or imported and sold by Hyundai Motor Company, BMW Korea, GM Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters, Mercedes-Benz Korea, Jaguar Land Rover Korea, Suzuki CMC, and Bike Korea were found to have manufacturing defects and will undergo voluntary recalls.

Furthermore, 181 units of the Avante N were found to have non-compliance with safety standards due to a software error in the electric power steering system, which caused warning signals not to be displayed when the lane departure prevention assist and lane keeping assist functions malfunctioned.

BMW Korea imported and sold 1,450 units across seven models, including the iX3 M Sport, which had a software error in the wireless charging device, causing some functions to not operate properly under certain conditions when using the digital key.

GM Asia Pacific Regional Headquarters imported and sold 504 units across two models, including the Cadillac XT5, which were found to have manufacturing defects in the rear camera connection wiring, resulting in the rear camera screen not being displayed.

Jaguar Land Rover Korea imported and sold 164 units across five models, including the Discovery P360, which had an engine oil passage blockage in one location within the camshaft carrier, causing oil leakage.

Additionally, 590 units of the GSX-1300RRQ motorcycle imported and sold by Suzuki CMC were found to have a front brake oil passage mislocation, and 65 units across two motorcycle models, including the Triumph Speed Triple 1200RR imported and sold by Bike Korea, had radiator cooling fan motors that did not operate properly.

Regarding this recall, each manufacturer will notify vehicle owners of the correction methods via mail and mobile text messages. If vehicle owners repair the defects at their own expense before the recall correction, they can apply for reimbursement of the repair costs from the manufacturer.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport operates an automobile recall center that collects and analyzes manufacturing defect information. By entering the vehicle number and chassis number on the website, owners can immediately check whether their vehicle is subject to recall and view detailed manufacturing defect information.
