Sacheon-si Minseon 8th Term Pledge Implementation Evaluation Team Activities Begin

Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon, Establishes Foundation for Solid Implementation of Campaign Promises

The ‘Minseon 8th Term Sacheon City Pledge Implementation Evaluation Group’ has officially begun activities to objectively and transparently inspect and evaluate the pledge commitments of Park Dongsik, Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam Province, during the 8th term of direct election.

On the 15th, Sacheon City held the appointment ceremony for the 8th term pledge implementation evaluation group, along with a report on pledge projects and the first meeting of the evaluation group, at the city hall’s main conference room.

The evaluation group appointed 14 members through an open recruitment announcement. Choi Yongsang serves as the head, and Bang Heejeong as the deputy head. The term of the evaluation group members lasts until June 2026.

At the meeting, the heads of departments related to pledge projects explained the progress of 106 pledge projects of Mayor Park Dongsik during the 8th term, and the evaluation group asked questions in this format.

In particular, to ensure smooth progress of pledge projects, the group deliberated on changes to a total of seven pledge projects: three projects to be merged or abolished, three projects to be modified, and one project to be excluded.

The pledge implementation evaluation group will periodically assess whether the pledge projects have been carried out as intended and will present various opinions from citizens to facilitate the smooth progress of the projects.

Mayor Park set the administrative slogan for the 8th term as ‘A New Beginning, Happy City Sacheon’ and is establishing and promoting six major administrative policies and an action plan for 106 pledge projects to enhance completeness.

As of February 2023, the pledge implementation rate of Mayor Park Dongsik stands at 87%, with 9 projects completed and 84 projects progressing normally. There are 13 projects that have not started or are delayed.

The city regularly inspects the progress of projects promised to citizens to ensure they are completed within the term, and discloses the results quarterly on Sacheon City’s official website.

Head Choi said, “We will regularly inspect and evaluate the pledges and fulfill our role as fair evaluators so that citizens’ opinions are sufficiently reflected.”

Mayor Park stated, “We will reflect the suggestions and improvements from the pledge implementation evaluation group to successfully complete the pledges promised to citizens. This will increase trust in pledge implementation and accelerate ‘A New Beginning, Happy City Sacheon.’”
