Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Attends the Gangseo-Yangcheon Environmental Movement Federation Regular General Meeting and Awards Commendations to Contributors



Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended the Gangseo-Yangcheon Environmental Movement Federation regular general meeting on the 15th and presented commendation certificates to contributors to environmental protection.


The regular general meeting, held at 2 p.m. on the second floor of The Venue G Seoul located in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, was attended by about 100 people including Mayor Kim Tae-woo, Seonsang-gyu, Chairman of the Gangseo-Yangcheon Environmental Movement Federation, and federation committee members.


The meeting proceeded with the first part starting with the opening declaration, followed by ▲presentation of commendation certificates to contributors to environmental protection ▲congratulatory remarks by Mayor Kim Tae-woo, and in the second part, the 2022 business settlement and the 2023 business plan and budget (draft) were reviewed.


Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, "I deeply appreciate the Gangseo-Yangcheon Environmental Movement Federation for their dedication to preserving the natural environment of Gangseo-gu," and added, "The district office will do its best to promptly resolve the issues of relocating the Banghwa landfill and the site for the combined heat and power plant."


Within five months of taking office, Mayor Kim signed an agreement with Seoul City and Gimpo City to relocate the Banghwa landfill, reigniting the long-stalled issue of the 'Banghwa landfill relocation' that had been stagnant for the past 25 years.


Furthermore, two months later, he signed a business agreement for the relocation of the Banghwa landfill with all nine companies operating at the landfill, reaching a consensus on the long-standing project of relocating the Banghwa landfill in Gangseo-gu.

Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, Attends ‘Welcome (YOUNG) to Youth Housing’ Event in Dangsan-dong



Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, attended the welcome event for new residents of youth housing held at the Seoul Youth Center Yeongdeungpo Orang on the afternoon of the 15th, where he experienced making interior accessories.


This welcome event was organized to greet young people and newlyweds starting anew as residents of Yeongdeungpo and to foster a vibrant youth community. The event included introductions to the main facilities and programs of Yeongdeungpo Orang, making interior accessories, and a neighborhood meeting.


Mayor Choi Ho-kwon said, "I sincerely welcome all the new residents who have become citizens of Yeongdeungpo and strongly support your hopeful future," adding, "We will listen attentively to the diverse voices of our youth who will carry the future of Korea and be a reliable support so that they can freely pursue their dreams."

Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, Signs Business Agreement with Baek Hae-ryong, Director of Northern Education Support Office, to Promote School Environmental Education in Dobong-gu

Cooperation in Operating Environmental Education and Practice Programs such as Youth Zero-C, Carbon Sympathy Mileage



Dobong-gu (Mayor Oh Eon-seok) signed a business agreement on the 14th with the Northern Education Support Office (Director Baek Hae-ryong) to promote school environmental education in Dobong-gu.


This agreement was pursued to keep pace with the mandatory environmental education for elementary and middle schools starting this year and to pledge cooperation between the two institutions in operating school environmental education projects.


Under this agreement, the two institutions plan to jointly operate various programs targeting schools in Dobong-gu, including training youth carbon neutrality promoters called ‘Youth Zero-C,’ ▲operating environmental education programs, ▲activating carbon neutrality practice systems such as the Dobong-type policy ‘Carbon Sympathy Mileage,’ and ▲cooperating in various environmental education events and campaigns.


Mayor Oh Eon-seok said, "Together with the Northern Education Support Office, we will continue to expand various environmental education programs, systems, and events so that students have more opportunities to learn about the environment and can practice carbon neutrality in their daily lives."
