Industrial production in the Eurozone increased more than expected in January.
On the 15th (local time), Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), announced that Eurozone industrial production rose by 0.9% compared to the previous month.
This figure significantly exceeded market expectations of a 0.2% increase. The previous figure was -2.0%.
Eurostat also reported that Eurozone industrial production increased by 0.7% compared to the same period last year. This too was higher than the market forecast of a 0.4% increase.
