On the 14th, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, and the Ulleung 119 Safety Center conducted wildfire response and first aid training for 50 workers employed in four fields, including the wildfire prevention and suppression team in the forest job sector.
Nam Hangwon, the mayor of Ulleung County (center), and the Ulleung 119 Safety Center conducted safety training in the forest job sector on the 14th.
As Gyeongbuk is an area where significant damage occurs, accounting for about 154 hectares, nearly half of the nationwide wildfire damage area of 328 hectares, the training was conducted in a tense atmosphere.
The role of workers in preventing wildfire causes such as carrying fire near forests, smoking, and burning field edges was emphasized in advance, and first aid capabilities were strengthened through cardiopulmonary resuscitation training to enable immediate response to emergencies involving forest visitors.
Nam Han-kwon, the mayor of Ulleung-gun, said, “We will spare no administrative support, so I ask everyone participating in forest jobs to fully perform their roles on the front lines.”
