Daejeon City is establishing a 'Nano·Semiconductor National Industrial Complex' in the Gyocheon-dong area.

According to the city on the 15th, the Gyocheon-dong area in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon (1.6 million pyeong) has passed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's Industrial Location Policy Committee and has been finally confirmed as a candidate site for a new national industrial complex.
The city plans to attract related industries such as nano·semiconductor industries, aerospace, and urban air mobility (UAM) to the national industrial complex to build a high value-added advanced industrial cluster that aligns with national industrial policies.
Additionally, the plan aims to develop a specialized industrial complex that leads semiconductor technological innovation through the competitiveness of semiconductor materials, parts, and equipment companies, as well as convergence technology development among industry, academia, and research institutes.
The city expects the establishment of the national industrial complex to have an economic ripple effect of 6.2 trillion won in production inducement and create 35,000 jobs.
Lee Jang-woo, Mayor of Daejeon, stated, “We will establish a solid business plan and proceed swiftly to realize Daejeon as a top-tier economic city early and to lead South Korea’s advanced industries.”
