JMS Withdrawal Members' Community Responds with Rebuttals
"You Had Meetings Right Before Each Sexual Assault"
Jeong Joeun (real name Kim Ji-sun), who was known as the second-in-command within the Christian Gospel Mission (JMS), acknowledged the sexual crime allegations against President Jeong Myeong-seok and claimed that she "tried to stop him," prompting rebuttals to her statements.
In a worship video released on JMS's YouTube channel on the 13th, Jeong unusually admitted to allegations including the sexual assault of minors and coercion of false testimony by President Jeong. She stated, "I prevented women from coming within 3 meters of the teacher (President Jeong)," but also claimed, "There was nothing I could do." She drew a line by saying that although she tried to stop President Jeong, he committed the crimes unilaterally.
"Secretly called separately for an interview, then taken to Jeong Myeong-seok"
However, after Jeong's video was released, testimonies emerged that she was the person who brought female believers to President Jeong. In an online community of former JMS members, one ex-member revealed, "The final interview was always with Jeong."
They continued, "After selecting the women, Jeong conducts one more private interview at the end," explaining, "They are secretly called separately, and if they pass, they go to Jeong Myeong-seok."
Within JMS, an interview refers to the time a believer spends with President Jeong after completing doctrinal education, and there were also revelations that sexual assault occurred during these 'interviews.'
Additionally, Maple, a foreign woman who exposed sexual assault victims within JMS in the Netflix documentary "I Am a God," testified, "I asked Sister J what this was after this happened, and she said, 'Don't you know the teacher likes you? Because you're pretty.'"
Many interpret the 'Sister J' mentioned by Maple as referring to Jeong. Furthermore, in an interview with the media, Maple said, "Jeong Joeun, that person is just a demon."
'Mother of Ten Million' JMS Second-in-Command Sister J?
Jeong is known as the person who accompanied and assisted President Jeong in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and other places when the sexual assault allegations surfaced and he fled abroad.
Moreover, testimonies revealed that after President Jeong was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Jeong selected "pretty and tall believers" and diligently visited him in prison.
In fact, Jeong is known to have led JMS by filling the void left by President Jeong during his imprisonment and was called the "Mother of Ten Million" within JMS, being identified as his successor.
President Jeong also showed deep trust, saying, "Without Joeun, I am nothing." It is said that the name "Jeong Joeun" was given by President Jeong himself.
Is there internal division within JMS? Rebuttal to Jeong's revelations
Meanwhile, speculation has arisen that there may be internal division within JMS regarding the background of Jeong's revelations acknowledging President Jeong's allegations.
The JMS side stated, "Jeong acted out impulsively to hide her personal misconduct," adding, "Currently, allegations of real estate speculation worth tens of billions of won have been raised against Jeong within the church, and Jeong is in conflict with other factions."
Experts analyzed that this appears to be a change in attitude to evade responsibility for existing JMS crimes and to consolidate her own faction.
