[Featured Stock] J-O Emerges in Si Anode Material and CNT Conductive Additive Market... Spotlight on Korea's First CNT Development Uptrend↑

J-O is showing strong performance. It is interpreted that J-O, the first domestic company to develop CNT, is gaining attention due to securities firms' analysis that the silicon (Si) anode material and carbon nanotube (CNT) conductive material markets will blossom.

As of 9:24 AM on the 15th, J-O is trading at 25,400 KRW, up 15.45% from the previous day.

On the same day, Shinhan Investment Corp. presented an overweight opinion on key companies related to the opening of the silicon (Si) anode material and CNT (carbon nanotube) conductive material markets. The stock that Shinhan Investment Corp. selected as the top pick is J-O.

Shim Won-yong, a researcher at Shinhan Investment Corp., said, “In a market where electric vehicles compete with internal combustion engine vehicles on price sensitivity, the adoption of silicon anode materials and CNT conductive materials is expected to expand. Silicon anode materials can be applied to most lithium-ion configurations, and CNT conductive materials can be used in both cathodes and anodes, so adoption by finished car OEMs is expected to expand around 2025.”

He added, “Companies focusing on mass production and securing core technologies are expected to benefit greatly. Silicon anode and CNT conductive material technologies have been discussed since the time of secondary battery electric vehicle installation,” and analyzed, “Although they have been researched for a long time, the actual commercialization and acceleration of shipment volumes are expected between 2023 and 2025.”

J-O has independent technology through research and development of carbon nanotubes for secondary battery conductive materials. It succeeded in mass production of carbon nanotubes for the first time in Korea and is developing next-generation carbon nanotube products as new businesses, such as carbon nanotube fibers that can replace copper metal and carbon nanotube sheets for bulletproof and heating applications.
