A man claiming to be the grandson of the late former President Jeon Du-hwan raised allegations of corruption involving the Jeon family through social media (SNS). The man asserted, "Jeon Jae-yong, the second son of Jeon Du-hwan, is engaging in fraudulent activities using slush funds in the United States."

Introducing himself as the son of Jeon Jae-yong, the man stated on his Instagram on the 13th, "I made this video to help reveal the criminal fraud activities my family might be involved in."

In the video, the man said about Jeon Jae-yong, "He is manipulating documents in Korea to legally obtain U.S. citizenship so that he won't be considered a criminal." He added, "To escape the watchful eyes of the law, he is pretending to be a preacher while carrying out fraudulent acts."

The man also referred to Jeon Jae-yong as "this guy," appealing, "He is using hidden slush funds in the U.S. to appear virtuous on the surface, but behind the scenes, he continues to commit devilish acts. Please help stop him." He also admitted to being a sinner himself, saying, "I will accept my punishment willingly."

In a post featuring a childhood photo of two children lying side by side in bed with Jeon Du-hwan, the man wrote, "My father (Jeon Jae-yong) and mother live off untraceable black money," and added, "They still do not realize their sins, but they will face the judgment of the law." Regarding Jeon Du-hwan, he said, "I think of him as a mass murderer," and stated, "He is not a hero who protected the country but merely a criminal."

He claimed that an indoor screen golf course was installed inside Jeon Du-hwan’s residence in Yeonhui-dong and posted related videos. The video showed an elderly woman enjoying a game at the indoor screen golf course. The man asserted that the elderly woman in the video was Lee Soon-ja, Jeon Du-hwan’s spouse.

Regarding Jeon Du-hwan’s third son, Jeon Jae-man, he said, "He operates a winery in Napa Valley, California," and added, "The winery business is an area where only those with astronomical amounts of money can enter, and it smells of black money."

The man said he had experienced depression and even attempted extreme measures due to the criminal activities of the Jeon family. He stated, "My family will use my psychiatric treatment records to label me as 'crazy,' but although I was hospitalized for a long time, I was eventually declared to have no issues and am now living a normal life."

Jeon Du-hwan was indicted in April 1997 on charges including rebellion under the Military Penal Code, treason, murder for the purpose of rebellion, and bribery under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes. The Supreme Court confirmed his life imprisonment sentence and a fine of 220.5 billion won.

However, he claimed, "I only have 290,000 won in total assets," and resisted paying the fine. Jeon Du-hwan passed away on November 23, 2021, and aside from 124.9 billion won recovered by the prosecution, the remaining 95.6 billion won remains unpaid as a fine.
