Gangnam Apartment Security Guard Found Dead: "Power Harassment Was Hard"

On the 15th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that Park, a man in his 70s working as a security guard at an apartment complex in Daechi-dong, Gangnam-gu, was found dead around 7:40 a.m. the previous day. At the time, Park was found collapsed on the floor near the security office.

Before his death, Park reportedly sent a message via his mobile phone to colleagues stating that he was struggling due to the "power harassment by the management office chief." After Park's death, fellow security guards posted flyers within the complex stating that "Park could not endure the unfair personnel measures and personal humiliation inflicted by the management office chief, who wielded power under the protection of the office chief without personnel authority and the residents' council president, and he jumped to his death at the workplace." Additionally, the colleagues revealed that "last month, more than ten security guards resigned because they could not endure the management office chief's 'knife dance'."

A police official stated, "It is presumed to be a case of suicide," and added, "We will investigate the exact circumstances, including the reason for the note."
