Samsung SDS to Become Largest Shareholder of 'MRO', Korea's No.1 Procurement Supply Chain Management Company

Samsung SDS to Become Largest Shareholder of 'MRO', Korea's No.1 Procurement Supply Chain Management Company

On the 15th, Samsung SDS announced that it has acquired a 33.4% stake in Emro, the No. 1 domestic procurement supply chain management company, and will participate in the board of directors as the largest shareholder.

Through this strategic investment, Samsung SDS has acquired global integrated supply chain (SCM) platform capabilities that cover planning, procurement, and execution of the supply chain.

In addition to the existing supply chain planning solution Nexprime and supply chain logistics execution solution Cello, Samsung SDS has secured a solution specialized in the procurement supply chain management area through this investment.

Samsung SDS is actively targeting the enterprise cloud market, and to this end, it is continuously expanding its capabilities centered on three areas: the customized Samsung Cloud Platform (SCP), all-in-one managed cloud services, and Samsung Enterprise SaaS for business innovation. With this acquisition, having secured all integrated supply chain management solutions, Samsung SDS's SaaS (Software as a Service) business is expected to gain even stronger competitiveness.

Samsung SDS also expects momentum to build for global business expansion based on its integrated supply chain platform capabilities. Emro will also act as an important partner in Samsung SDS's global business.

Song Jaemin, CEO of Emro, said, "We will create a new future together with Samsung SDS. I am confident that both companies will grow together in the global market."

Hwang Seongwoo, CEO of Samsung SDS, stated, "We will join forces with Emro to expand the integrated supply chain platform business targeting global market customers and solidify our position as a SaaS solution provider, which is a key pillar of our cloud business portfolio."
