Why Did the Superintendent Serve as a Hall Waiter at the ‘Morning Cafe’?

Ha Yoon-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, appeared at a ‘coffee shop’ to serve as a hall waiter. Although wearing a suit that seemed out of place in a cafe, he handed Americano coffee to the ‘customers’ along with snacks and notes. All the guests were education office staff, and the coffee cup holders and leaflets bore the same phrase.

Busan Superintendent of Education Ha Yoon-su held a Morning Cafe event on the morning of the 14th, offering Americano coffee and encouraging the staff.

The morning cafe event with Superintendent Ha was held at the main entrance of the Busan Education Office headquarters at 8:30 a.m. on the 14th. It was an event called ‘Integrity Morning Cafe for Communication and Empathy with the Superintendent’ held to encourage about 600 employees arriving for work on White Day.

He greeted the staff, who had an increased workload due to the start of the new semester in March, by offering morning coffee and White Day gifts.

Superintendent Ha Yoon-su encouraged and communicated with the staff by sharing the phrase, “Let’s build a trusted Busan education together,” along with a smile.

Before starting work, the message he delivered in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee was ‘integrity.’

He also encouraged cleaning staff who create a pleasant environment and senior club employees who provide healthy meals, and at times listened to their difficulties.

He said, “Integrity is further enhanced through empathy with employees,” adding, “I hope this event becomes an opportunity for the education family to communicate and share the value of integrity.”
