Handok announced on the 14th that it will hold the 52nd Yakyeonsang Awards Ceremony, given to pharmacists who have contributed to the improvement of public health, at the COEX Conference Room in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The Yakyeonsang Award was jointly established by Handok and the Korean Pharmaceutical Association in 1970 and is awarded annually to association members who faithfully adhere to the pharmacist code of ethics and have dedicated themselves to improving public health and developing local communities.
The recipients of the 52nd Yakyeonsang Award are five pharmacists: ▲ Im Geonheon (Seoul Branch) ▲ Park Sangil (Busan Branch) ▲ Lee Hangil (Daegu Branch) ▲ Park Mincheol (Ulsan Branch) ▲ Kim Younghoo (Gyeonggi Branch). The awardees will receive the Yakyeon Tower trophy and a prize of 5 million won.
Pharmacist Im Geonheon has been working to promote the health and well-being of local residents for over 43 years since opening his pharmacy in 1981. He was recognized for conducting education for members on the pharmacy medical insurance system implemented in 1989, contributing to the early establishment and activation of the medical insurance system.
Pharmacist Park Sangil has led volunteer activities to improve the health of low-income groups and foreign workers in the community. He also participated as an advisory pharmacist in the proper drug use support project, contributing to the integrated and systematic management of medication use by chronic disease patients who regularly take multiple medications.
Pharmacists Lee Hangil and Park Mincheol were recognized for their contributions to community development through various internal and external activities and volunteer work, while pharmacist Kim Younghoo was acknowledged for his efforts as an instructor in youth drug abuse prevention education, promoting the healthy growth of adolescents.
