"Hard to Bring Up Any Topic with Lee Jun-seok"
"Ruling Party Proposes Important Role to Ahn Cheol-soo Again"
Kim Byung-min, a Supreme Council member of the People Power Party, advised former leader Lee Jun-seok to humbly accept the primary election results, saying, "Even when good advice is given, he says it is 'wrong'."
On the 14th, during CBS's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' Kim responded to the host's remark that "the ruling party leadership doesn't say many good things about former leader Lee" by saying, "Even when good things are said, like yesterday when Assemblyman Tae Young-ho said something positive, former leader Lee says 'Assemblyman Tae Young-ho is wrong'."

While Supreme Council member Tae Young-ho said on KBS Radio the day before that "former leader Lee must also join for next year's general election victory," Supreme Council member Kim Jae-won evaluated on BBS Radio that "the stage of 'rewriting' (former leader Lee) is over." In response, former leader Lee reacted on SNS, saying, "Regarding this matter, Kim Jae-won's words are more correct than Supreme Council member Tae Young-ho's," and added, "It is ultimately a distinction between irrationality and rationality, and it must be made clear. Everyone can be embraced into the realm of irrationality."
Kim also criticized former leader Lee for referring to himself as "rational" and the People Power Party as "irrational." He said, "When former leader Lee became party leader in the past and faced various difficulties and twists, he said, 'Former leader Lee and former Supreme Council member Kim Yong-tae were also chosen by party members. Why shake the choice of party members like that?' But this was a party convention with a much larger 800,000 party members," adding, "More than 400,000 party members voted, so does that mean our People Power Party members chose irrationality?"
Then, in response to the host's comment, "Even if you want to embrace and accept, if it comes out like that, embracing is difficult," Kim said, "When you say 'embrace,' don't you also hear things like 'Am I an egg to be embraced?' It's a bit difficult to even start a conversation." Former leader Lee had shown a strong reaction in September last year on CBS Radio, saying, "'Embrace' is the most humiliating expression to me and makes me feel the worst," and "What am I supposed to be embraced for? Am I an egg? Why embrace me?"
While Kim maintained a critical stance toward former leader Lee, he actively embraced Assemblyman Ahn Cheol-soo. He said, "He might play an important role in the general election," and praised him, saying, "He symbolizes the diversity of our party, and even though it has been less than a year since he merged with our party, he received the choice of over 20% of responsible party members." He also conveyed the party atmosphere, saying, "The overall trend within the party is that they want Assemblyman Ahn to take on an important role."
However, Assemblyman Ahn recently declined the chairmanship of the special committee on science and technology proposed by Party Leader Kim. The reason was to take time to recharge. Kim said, "Since he is exhausted after the election, it seems he judged that he needed some rest, and we must highly respect Assemblyman Ahn's decision," adding, "What shows that Party Leader Kim was very considerate of Assemblyman Ahn is that he did not just give him a party position under several leaders, but intended to firmly support a place where Assemblyman Ahn can independently work and achieve results."
Some interpret that Assemblyman Ahn declined because the position and its rank did not match. Regarding this, Kim said, "No matter what position Assemblyman Ahn talks about, would the rank match?" and added, "Party Leader Kim's sincere intention is to create a position in the science and technology field where Assemblyman Ahn can shine."
