Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will provide up to 1 million KRW per semester (2 million KRW per year) in tuition support for third or higher children in multi-child families who are university students.
Seongnam City announced on the 14th that it has secured a project budget of 700 million KRW this year and will accept applications for first semester university tuition support until the 16th of next month.
The eligible applicants are unmarried university students under the age of 30 as of January 1st of this year, who are the third or higher child in their family.
Those who wish to apply can do so by visiting the Seongnam City website.
After reviewing eligibility, the city will deposit the support amount into the applicant's account in May.
A city official stated, "To alleviate the economic burden on multi-child families, we introduced this program for the first time last year, supporting 320 students in the first semester and 251 students in the second semester, with a total of 570 million KRW."
