Increase in Sales of the Original Novel of 'Suzume-ui Mundansok'... Yeongpoong Bookstore Bestseller No. 1

Japanese animation "Suzume no Tojimari" has attracted attention as it surpassed 1 million viewers, leading to a significant increase in sales of the original novel of the same name.

According to Youngpoong Bookstore, the novel ranked first in the comprehensive bestseller list for the second week of March. It rose five places from 6th in early March, the week before the movie's release.

"Suzume no Tojimari" is a new work by director Makoto Shinkai, published on January 13. It has been praised for its delicate and beautiful depiction of a storyline connecting the past and present.

Currently, Youngpoong Bookstore is holding a special exhibition for director Makoto Shinkai. The event is taking place at the Jonggak-Jongno main branch and features the director's representative works, including "Suzume no Tojimari," "Weathering with You," "Your Name," and "The Garden of Words." A dedicated book corner has been set up, and alongside screening trailers, a movie ticket giveaway event is ongoing.
