Toss Securities Hires Marketing Expert CEO Formerly from 'TikTok'

Toss Securities is appointing Kim Seung-yeon, General Manager (GM) of Southeast Asia Global Business Solutions at the global short-form mobile video platform TikTok, as its next CEO.

Toss Securities announced on the 13th that it will hold a shareholders' meeting on the 30th to propose the appointment of GM Kim Seung-yeon as the new CEO. If the proposal is approved, GM Kim will assume the CEO position for a two-year term starting in April.

GM Kim holds a master's degree in bio and brain engineering from KAIST and has worked as head of marketing for Google Asia and head of Southeast Asia Global Business Solutions at TikTok, establishing himself as a marketing expert.

Oh Chang-hoon, the current CEO who has led the company since July last year, will return to his previous position as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Toss Securities.
