Sinan-gun Hosts 'Yellow Spring Festival' Island Daffodil Festival

Planting of 1.78 Million Daffodils over 13ha Area Creates a Spectacular Sight

Shinan-gun, Jeollanam-do will hold the 2023 Island Narcissus Festival on Seondo Island from the 30th of this month to the 9th of next month under the theme "Our Spring."


According to the county on the 13th, Seondo, known as the "Island of Narcissus," currently has 1.78 million narcissus bulbs planted over an area of 13 hectares, creating a spectacular sight.

Visitors can enjoy the fully bloomed narcissus flowers along the 2.7 km-long narcissus cultivation site trail.


Additionally, a narcissus garden and a lawn plaza have been newly created, and photo zones and resting areas are installed throughout, offering a healing travel experience.


Various experiential programs such as cycling around Seondo, a slow mail box where letters are received a year later, making unique flower bracelets, and tasting flower tea will be held, along with a narcissus flower painting exhibition and a Seondo photo exhibition.


The Narcissus Festival Promotion Committee plans to sell various goods and flower pots inspired by narcissus flowers to visiting tourists.


Seondo is about a 50-minute car ferry ride from Garyong Ferry Terminal in Amhae-eup, Shinan-gun. To ensure a vehicle-free festival, the county has secured additional ships and temporary parking lots, and shuttle buses will operate on Seondo.


County Governor Park Woo-ryang said, "I hope all visitors will have a healing time walking along the beautiful narcissus flower paths harmonized with Seondo’s blue sky and sea."
