Inspection of 89 Core Projects' National and Provincial Funding Activity Performance
Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) held the ‘Core Projects and 2024 New Projects National Budget Request Progress Report Meeting’ at Heungyang Hall in the county office on March 13.
On this day, the report meeting was held with the attendance of Governor Gong Young-min and about 20 senior officials, where each department reported on the progress of major core projects and reviewed activities for securing national and provincial funding.
To secure future growth engines driving Goheung’s change and development, the top priority is the speedy promotion of current core projects and the establishment of a stable financial foundation. To respond one step ahead of the government budget formulation schedule, all-out efforts to request national and provincial funds are more important than anything else.
Accordingly, this report meeting focused on discussions regarding issues, countermeasures, and future plans for 89 major core projects reported by each department, as well as key Goheung-gun priority projects such as ▲Gwangju~Goheung (Naro Space Center) Expressway Construction (project cost undecided) ▲Goheung Doyang~Boseong Beolgyo Railway Construction Project (917.5 billion KRW) ▲Fishing Vessel Construction Support Center (62.8 billion KRW) ▲Geumsan-myeon Ocheon Port Construction (50 billion KRW), which are national budget request projects.
Governor Gong Young-min said, “To promote core projects swiftly, securing national funding is a matter of life and death,” and added, “We must carefully analyze the issues raised in this report meeting and prepare effective countermeasures.”
He continued, “To ensure that the requested projects are finally reflected in the government budget, we must redevelop response logic linked to government policy directions and actively visit central government ministries and the National Assembly to do our best in national budget request activities.”
Goheung-gun plans to maintain continuous and organic cooperation with Jeollanam-do to ensure the smooth progress of major pending projects and will continuously monitor the status of national budget securing activities to fully respond to securing national funds according to the government budget schedule.
