Gwangju Technopark announced on the 13th that it held a joint labor-management ESG management declaration ceremony to promote ESG management.
This declaration ceremony started from a consensus between labor and management on the importance of ESG management and was implemented to strengthen the will to spread ESG values through the joint reading of the ESG management practice declaration by labor and management.
The main joint declaration contents include ▲energy saving ▲creation of an eco-friendly city ▲practice of regional community cooperation and win-win management ▲Zero major accidents ▲creation of social value ▲establishment of transparent and fair governance.
Going forward, Gwangju TP plans to lead ESG management based on the vision of "Gwangju TP trusted by customers and realizing the value of coexistence," with three strategic goals: E (low-carbon and eco-friendly management), S (social responsibility management), and G (sustainable development management).
In the field of eco-friendly management, it is promoting energy efficiency projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and is expanding policies for environmental responsibility management.
In the field of social responsibility management, it is establishing a safety and health management system to achieve zero major accident cases and promoting the establishment of a value realization cooperation system to strengthen social responsibility.
In particular, Gwangju TP launched and operates the "Gwangju Advanced Industrial Complex Social Value Community" together with related organizations and groups in the advanced complex to build a cooperative system for providing social value services.
In the field of sustainable development management, it is promoting the establishment of a trust-based labor-management culture, internalization of ethics and human rights management, and the creation of a smart work environment to improve sustainable management capabilities.
Kim Young-jip, President of Gwangju TP, stated that the joint labor-management declaration for spreading ESG management will serve as an opportunity to make Gwangju TP more transparent and fair, and that they will continuously discover ESG promotion tasks suitable for the characteristics and roles as a regional base institution.
Meanwhile, Han Soo-man, head of the Technopark branch of the National Public Research Labor Union, stated that they will do their best to find the value of labor within ESG management and strengthen the management foundation to become a more trusted institution.
Meanwhile, Gwangju TP plans to practice ESG management by establishing an internal joint labor-management ESG management committee and a working subcommittee for execution monitoring, performance evaluation, and feedback, starting with the declaration ceremony.
