New Premier Li Qiang said on the 13th that China's economic growth target of "around 5%" set for this year is a "challenging goal."
At a press conference for domestic and international media held immediately after the closing ceremony of the National People's Congress (NPC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, Premier Li stated, "We will need to make greater efforts."
He emphasized, "We will focus our capabilities on achieving high-quality development" and "steadily deepen reform and opening-up." He also highlighted stable growth, stable prices, and stable employment as key tasks for this year.
