Operation of the Korean Pavilion at the 2023 Cologne Dental Exhibition (IDS)
Supporting Expansion of Exports to Europe

KOTRA announced on the 13th that it will participate in the '2023 K?ln International Dental Show,' the world's largest dental industry exhibition held in Cologne, Germany, until the 18th, by organizing a Korean Pavilion.

Marking the 100th anniversary of the exhibition's launch (40th edition), a total of 1,758 companies from 65 countries are participating in an area of 180,000㎡, showcasing dental equipment and machinery, related pharmaceuticals, and consumables. A total of 193 Korean companies are participating, including 103 companies in the Korean Pavilion jointly operated by KOTRA and the Korea Dental Medical Device Industry Association.

KOTRA "Korean Dental Equipment Exports to EU Increase by 19% Annually"

To enhance the outcomes of this exhibition, KOTRA will conduct linked marketing activities such as on-site consultations with buyers jointly invited by 23 European trade offices, premium product sample displays in the excellent product promotion hall, CSR donation ceremonies, and promotional video production for participating companies.

Over the past three years (2020-2022), Korean dental equipment exports to Germany have increased by 25% (an average of 2.7 million USD annually), and exports to the EU have grown by 38% (an average of 603 million USD annually), highlighting this as a promising sector for expanding exports to Europe. However, despite this export growth, the brand awareness of Korean companies in the local market remains relatively low. Accordingly, KOTRA's Frankfurt Trade Office will exhibit samples from 67 excellent domestic dental equipment companies, including participating companies, in the premium promotion hall to intensively promote them to visitors.

Additionally, excellent products from 32 participating companies will be donated to the German Dental Association Foundation (HDZ) to contribute to dental healthcare in German local communities, including refugee communities, and to strengthen brand marketing of Korean products.

Kim Hyun-chul, Head of KOTRA's Europe Regional Headquarters, stated, "Our dental equipment exports to the EU have increased by about 19% annually over the past three years, expanding our presence in the European market. We will carry out focused marketing through the world's largest dental exhibition, the K?ln International Dental Show, and support the continuous expansion of exports of our dental equipment."
