Everything Everywhere All at Once is a story about Evelyn (played by Yang Ja-kyung/Yang Ziqiong), a first-generation immigrant in the United States, who travels across multiple universes. Ke Hoi Kwan portrayed Evelyn’s husband, Waymond.

On stage, Ke Hoi Kwan said, "My 84-year-old mother is watching from home," and shouted, "Mom, I just won an Oscar." He continued, "I spent a long time in a refugee camp. From a journey that started on a boat, I have come to this big stage. People say stories like this only happen in movies. I can't believe this happened to me. This is the American Dream," sharing his thoughts.

He added, "My wife told me every year, every month for 20 years that my time would come someday," shedding tears. He continued, "I am grateful to enjoy a glory that one may only experience once in a lifetime. I thank my mother who sacrificed for me. I want to tell everyone to believe in your dreams and keep dreaming."

Ke Hoi Kwan first gained attention as a child actor in the first two Indiana Jones films and has received over 60 Best Supporting Actor trophies from various awards including the American Golden Globes, Critics' Choice, and Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The Best Supporting Actress award went to Jamie Lee Curtis for her role as Deirdre, an IRS agent who threatens to foreclose on the laundromat run by Evelyn in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Jamie Lee Curtis, who won her first-ever Oscar trophy beating Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (The Banshees of Inisherin), and Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All at Once), expressed, "I have made films for many years, and I share this Oscar with the thousands of people who made these films with me."

She said, "I want to dedicate this award to my family. Both my mother and father were Oscar nominees." She then shouted tearfully, "I won an Oscar!"

This year, Everything Everywhere All at Once received the most nominations with 11 categories, including Best Picture and Best Director.

The American Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, is the largest film awards ceremony in the United States, hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
