Logistics Center Operation Efficiency, Logistics Equipment Construction and Design

The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC) announced on the 13th that it will publicly recruit a service company to consult on the operation system and equipment introduction of the 'Logistics Center Dedicated to Small and Medium Enterprises' within the Incheon Airport 2nd Airport Logistics Complex. The logistics center dedicated to small and medium enterprises is Korea's first air export-dedicated logistics center construction project promoted by SBC to alleviate logistics difficulties of export SMEs and strengthen their competitiveness.

The logistics center will be located on a site of 18,452.9㎡ within the Incheon Airport 2nd Airport Logistics Complex, and SBC plans to build advanced automated logistics equipment and entrust operation to a specialized private logistics company.

Before constructing the logistics equipment, SBC will conduct consulting for an efficient operation system and the introduction of advanced logistics equipment. The main tasks of the consulting include ▲ investigation and analysis of the current status of the logistics center ▲ data analysis and goal setting for the logistics center ▲ establishment of the logistics center operation system and operational equipment ▲ construction of a dedicated logistics platform for the logistics center ▲ simulation analysis of the logistics center ▲ review of the logistics center scale ▲ judgment of project costs related to logistics center operation and equipment construction ▲ preparation of schedule and materials related to equipment construction, etc.

This service is currently announced through the Public Procurement Service's Nara Marketplace, and proposals will be accepted until the 11th of next month. After evaluation, the service company will be selected by the end of April. An SBC official said, "We expect the establishment of an operation system suitable for online exports such as e-commerce and the presentation of appropriate and specific equipment construction plans," adding, "We hope for active interest and participation from companies with abundant experience in air logistics and equipment introduction."
