Vegetarianization of Tteokgalbi and Bibimbap
Seven Eleven announced on the 13th that its 'Plantable Vegetarian Series' has sold 1 million units within ten days of its launch, gaining great popularity among consumers.
The three items in the Plantable Vegetarian Series are vegetarian versions of familiar Korean dishes such as Tteokgalbi and Bibimbap. As a result, Wang Gyoja & Tteokgalbi Steak Set, Jeonju Bibim Gimbap, and Chop Steak Triangle Gimbap all ranked within the top three in their respective categories in sales.
In 2021, Seven Eleven introduced the vegetarian product brand 'Grain Great' and has been researching and developing various products using plant-based ingredients. So far, they have launched 12 products, including Grain Chinese Rice Bowl & Dumplings, Grain Mayo Inari Sushi, and Grain Bolognese Burger.
A Seven Eleven representative said, "With the recent growing interest in vegetarianism, we are striving to research and develop delicious vegetarian products," adding, "Building on the success of this product, we will introduce tasty and healthy products without meat."
