Gyeonggi Province will provide scholarships ranging from 700,000 to 1,000,000 KRW annually to economically disadvantaged middle and high school students and out-of-school youth within the province.

Gyeonggi Province announced that, using the Ministry of Economy and Finance's lottery fund as a resource, it will provide scholarships to 10,850 youths in difficult living conditions, including recipients of the National Basic Livelihood Security, legally designated lower-income groups, and those with household incomes below 100% of the median income. Middle school students (out-of-school youth born between 2008 and 2010) will receive 700,000 KRW annually, and high school students (out-of-school youth born between 2005 and 2007) will receive 1,000,000 KRW annually, paid in two installments in April and September. Applications will be accepted from the 13th to the 24th of this month.

Starting this year, applications for the Gyeonggi Province Youth Living Scholarship will be processed online through 'Gyeonggi Minwon 24'. For those who have difficulty applying online, applications can be submitted in person at the local administrative welfare centers.

Eligible applicants can register as members on the 'Gyeonggi Minwon 24' website via the internet or smartphone, complete the application form, and submit the required documents.

For more detailed information about the living scholarship, inquiries can be made to the youth departments of city and county offices, the relevant eup/myeon/dong administrative welfare centers, the Gyeonggi Province call center (120), or by referring to announcements on the Gyeonggi Province or city/county websites.

Lee Moon-gyo, Director of the Youth Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Since 2004, Gyeonggi Province has been expanding the living scholarship every year, and starting this year, online applications are available, making it more convenient for eligible applicants to apply. We will continue to strive to ensure that youths do not have to discontinue their studies due to economic difficulties."
