Operation of the 1st Disaster Safety Senior Manager Course

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety's National Civil Defense Disaster Safety Education Center announced on the 13th that it will operate the "1st Disaster Safety Senior Manager Course" tomorrow at the Government Sejong Convention Center in Sejong City, targeting about 100 participants including deputy heads of cities, counties, and districts nationwide and safety officers from disaster management responsible agencies.

This specialized training is being conducted in line with the government's policy to strengthen the response capabilities of disaster safety professionals, which is part of the "Comprehensive Plan for the Overhaul of the National Safety System" announced after the Itaewon incident.

The "Disaster Safety Senior Manager Course" has shifted to face-to-face group training starting this year as COVID-19 stabilizes, and to increase participation, it is planned to be held regionally three times, beginning with the Chungcheong area, followed by the metropolitan area and the southern region.

Kim Jaeheum, Director of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's National Civil Defense Disaster Safety Education Center, stated, "This specialized training will educate participants to acquire rapid decision-making skills and disaster management knowledge to properly perform roles such as the head of the integrated support headquarters at disaster sites, minimizing damage when disasters occur."
