Focus on Economic Diplomacy and the 'Great Hangang Project'
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will embark on a 9-night, 11-day business trip to Europe from the 12th to the 22nd to participate in the "World Healthy Cities Partnership Mayors' Meeting." The itinerary includes visits to London, United Kingdom; Dublin, Ireland; Hamburg, Germany; and Copenhagen, Denmark.
During this trip, he plans to directly observe the advanced development cases of European waterfront cities that have prospered into vibrant and economically strong cities by utilizing rivers and seas, as well as investment attraction strategies of global financial cities, to gather key success strategies that naturally attract people, businesses, and capital.
First, in London, the financial center of Europe, he will gain various policy ideas to realize the core projects of the inaugural year of the Special Attraction City, such as the "Financial and Corporate City" and "Waterfront Attractive City," and promote Seoul as a global leading city.
Along with this, the schedule will continue in Dublin, Ireland, to secure strategies for strengthening Seoul's competitiveness through investment attraction and waterfront development.
In Hamburg, Germany, the third city on the itinerary, he will visit HafenCity, a representative waterfront mixed-use development, and the landmark cultural and artistic facility "Elbphilharmonie." Finally, in Copenhagen, Denmark, he will tour resident-friendly resource recovery facilities and policy sites related to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled, seeking solutions that can be applied to Seoul through advanced cases.
