While wildfire suppression efforts are underway in Hwagae-myeon, Hadong-gun, another wildfire broke out in Witaeri, Okjong-myeon at 3:59 a.m. on the 12th.


Hadong-gun issued an evacuation order to nearby residents through disaster text messages and other means.


According to the forestry authorities, the wildfire in Okjong-myeon was extinguished separately from the Hwagae-myeon wildfire at around 5:37 a.m.


Forty-five firefighters and twelve pieces of equipment were deployed to the site.


The fire that broke out in the mountain area of Seon-ri, Wondong-myeon, Yangsan-si at 10:51 p.m. on the 11th was fully extinguished by around 8 a.m. on the 12th.


Fourteen firefighting vehicles, three helicopters, and 188 firefighters were deployed, conducting overnight suppression operations.


At the Hwagae-myeon wildfire suppression site, firefighting helicopters were redeployed at 6:46 a.m., coinciding with sunrise.


Firefighters who had withdrawn late at night also returned to the site and resumed suppression efforts.


As of 7 a.m., the suppression rate of the Hwagae-myeon wildfire stands at 63%.
