Elderly Mother in Her 80s and Son in His 50s Die in Fire at Apartment in Gimpo

A fire of unknown cause occurred in an apartment in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, resulting in the deaths of a mother and her son.

According to the fire authorities on the 11th, a fire broke out at around 8:16 a.m. in an apartment in Gamjeong-dong, Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi Province. The fire authorities found an elderly mother in her 80s and her son in his 50s inside the house and transported them to the hospital, but both were pronounced dead.

The police and fire authorities are investigating the causes of their deaths and the fire.
