Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will operate the ‘Yeongyang-gun Community Childcare Sharing Center’ starting March 11 to reduce the childcare burden on caregivers and promote a community-centered care culture to support the healthy growth of children.
The Community Childcare Sharing Center is an open care space that anyone with children under the age of 13 and their parents can use for free after membership registration. It provides a safe space for childcare and offers programs where parents and children can participate together in play and education. The operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.
The ‘Childcare Cooperative Care’ service operated at the Sharing Center is a care service designed to reduce childcare burdens by caring for children together with neighbors in the community. Caregivers can exchange various talents and goods while sharing childcare information with neighbors, and children can enjoy learning, experiences, and play.
The Yeongyang-gun Community Childcare Sharing Center was established by remodeling a space inside the county’s Urban Regeneration Center, after being selected for the remodeling support project by Shinhan Financial Hope Foundation. It contributes to building a child-friendly social environment through the creation of a community care network involving local residents.
County Governor Oh Do-chang said, “From now on, childcare will not be solely an individual burden but a responsibility shared by the community and neighbors. By utilizing the Community Childcare Sharing Center, an open care space, we will do our best to supplement the weakened family care functions caused by nuclear families and create a child-friendly Yeongyang that is good for having and raising children.”
