Yeongyang-gun Holds Kick-off Meeting for 2024 Local Extinction Response Fund Investment Plan Study Yeongyang County Office.

This service was implemented as Yeongyang-gun was included in the population decline areas designated by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety in 2021. Since last year, after evaluating investment plans for population decline areas, a local extinction response fund worth about 1 trillion won annually is allocated differentially. Therefore, the service aims to secure a large amount of local extinction response funds through thorough investment plan establishment.

At the kick-off meeting, the 'Yeongyang-gun Local Extinction Response Promotion Team,' formed to respond to local extinction, and the service performing organization attended. The meeting was held as a platform for exchanging various opinions to discover customized local extinction response policies considering regional characteristics to proactively respond to the local extinction crisis.

Governor O Do-chang stated, "We will mobilize all administrative power of the county to secure the local extinction response fund and overcome the population decline crisis. We ask for the active participation of residents through public policy proposal contests so that customized policies necessary for the region can be discovered."
