The United States has sanctioned Chinese companies and individuals that sold drones or supplied parts to Russia.
According to major foreign media including AFP on the 9th (local time), the U.S. Treasury Department stated, "These companies are responsible for the sale and delivery of thousands of aerospace components, including parts that can be used in unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) applications," and made this decision.
The sanctions target five China-based companies, including Hangzhou Fuyang Koto Machinery, and one individual.
The Treasury Department reports that they played a role in selling and delivering thousands of aircraft parts, including those for drones, to the Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industrial Company (HESA).
The Treasury Department emphasized, "Iran is directly involved in civilian casualties caused by Russia's use of Iranian-made drones," and added, "The United States will continue to target Iran's international procurement network that supplies drones to Russia for use in its illegal war in Ukraine."
In addition, the Treasury Department designated 39 companies that helped sell petrochemical products to Iran and entities related to a banking network used by Iran to evade international financial sanctions as sanction targets.
