Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is operating resident-centered health projects tailored to the local conditions, receiving great responses from local residents.
The city announced on the 9th that it is promoting special projects aimed at improving residents' health and quality of life at 26 health clinics within the region, which serve as health guardians for local residents.

The main projects and education programs include a total of 36 initiatives such as dementia prevention projects, physical activity programs, chronic disease management projects, kiosk and smartphone education, and sleep education.
The city plans to promote projects suited to local characteristics and resident demands with the goal of encouraging healthy lifestyle practices and preventing chronic diseases, thereby spreading and practicing a culture of healthy living.
Key activities include Tangram play, paper folding, puzzle solving, and horticulture and craft making aimed at strengthening cognitive function for the elderly.
Through physical activity programs such as health gymnastics classes and walking self-help groups, opportunities for physical fitness improvement and wholesome leisure activities are provided, along with programs to prevent chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and obesity.
Education on booking KTX train tickets using smartphones, ordering food via kiosks, as well as longevity photo sessions, fall prevention classes, and depression prevention classes are also conducted.
A health center official said, “As health issues in the community have become more important after COVID-19, we will work harder to improve citizens’ quality of life and health promotion by implementing various projects tailored to the characteristics of each period and region.”
