The BK21 Education and Research Team of the Department of Tourism Management at Dong-A University held an international academic forum and invited experts to discuss the policy achievements and challenges of tourism development projects.
Dong-A University recently announced on the 9th that the 4th phase BK21 General Project Group, the Department of Tourism Management's Global Tourism SDGs Education and Research Team, hosted the "1st SDGs International Academic Forum (BK21Four The 1st Dong-A University SDGs Expert International Academic Forum)".
The event was held online (ZOOM) under the theme "Major Policy Achievements and Challenges of SDGs in Tourism".
The forum featured distinguished scholars such as Hwang Haeguk, Director of the Asia-Pacific Regional Office of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), and Ong Hong Peng, Chairman of the Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board, as presenters.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Dong-A University Vice President Kang Daesung, followed by discussions centered on SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) led by Research Team Leader Professor Choi Kyuhwan, and professors Hwang Younghyun, Yoon Haejin, Song Myunggeun, and Kang Sanghoon from the Department of Tourism Management, along with graduate students. Subsequently, a panel discussion was held with the participation of Professor Lee Jeni from Kyungpook National University and Professor Moon Hyungeun from Keimyung University.
The BK21 Education and Research Team of the Department of Tourism Management at Dong-A University has been conducting various programs aimed at nurturing global experts to achieve SDGs in the tourism sector since being selected for the 4th phase BK21 project in 2021.
Dong-A University is establishing a virtuous cycle research structure centered on graduate schools by specializing graduate curricula and maximizing research capabilities to foster the next generation of scholars.
